Leagues 2022

We believe Ultimate is the best sport in the world. ALL experience levels are welcome. We fully expect some to have never played before and some to have many years experience.

JOIN AN ULTIMATE FRISBEE

LEAGUE IN 2022!

We have 3 Leagues to choose from:
Monday Men's League
Monday Women's League

Wednesday Co-ed League

We eat, sleep, and breath Ultimate Frisbee. We have a robust 4-8th Grade league, High School league, and help facilitate the Pro team in town.

Join a league by bringing an entire team, group of friends, or sign up as an individual and get placed on a team.

For anyone new/interested: Zig Zag Ultimate staff will introduce a new concept every week so everyone can keep improving just a little bit. One week it may be how to throw the forehand, how to run the offense, or how to read a disc.

If you have never played - we have spent the last 7 years as a club learning how to integrate new players quickly! We work so hard to make sure everyone has a great experience. "I don't know how to play" "I can't throw a frisbee" Well, we are glad you asked! We will teach you :)

WHAT IS ULTIMATE FRISBEE:

Combining the nonstop movement and athletic endurance of soccer with the aerial passing skills of football, a game of Ultimate Frisbee is played two seven-player teams on a field similar to football. The object of the game is to score points by catching a pass in the opponent’s end zone. A player must stop running while in possession of the disc, but may pivot and pass to any of the other receivers on the field.

Just like basketball, Ultimate Frisbee is a transition game in which players move quickly from offense to defense on turnovers that occur with a dropped pass, an interception, a pass out of bounds, or when a player is caught holding the disc for more than ten seconds. Although Ultimate Frisbee resembles many traditional sports in its basic athletic requirements, the rules are simpler, which allows the game to be self-officiated. The concept of Spirit of the Game is integrated into the basic philosophy of the sport, it is written into the rules and is practiced at all levels of the games from local leagues to the World Games.

Several local colleges have teams including GVSU, MSU, Cornerstone, Ferris State, and Calvin College. One day,

some of our players may play professionally for the Grand Rapids Pro team or even for Team USA!
