❄️ Join Our Winter League!
Winter League is a blast — and indoor turf space is hard to come by! We’ve locked in a limited set of dates, all on Friday evenings in November and December. This is your only chance to play with us during the winter season, so don’t miss out!
Schedule & Location
We’re planning for 1 Wednesday + 6 Friday sessions from 5:45–8:00 PM, running October 29 – December 19 (skipping Nov 28 for the holiday).
We’ll begin outdoors at MacKay-Jaycees Park if the weather is above 45°F. If it's colder, or later in the season, we'll move indoors to the beautiful indoor turf at MSA Woodland, where we've hosted for over a decade.
Format
Winter League is game-focused — no traditional practices. We coach on the fly to keep things dynamic, competitive, and fun. Because indoor space is limited and more costly, we aim to maximize every minute of game play.
Athletes are divided by age groups, but all sessions take place at the same time and location.
Cost & Registration
⚠️ Space is limited and this league fills quickly — don’t wait!
-
$155 if you register by October 10
-
$180 starting October 11
-
Registration closes October 17 (or earlier if spots fill)

FAQS
HOW DOES THE FALL SEASON WORK?
Once you are on a team, you will practice with them once a week. Then, every Monday night, all high school teams will come together for game night! You may also join the tournament team. This is in addition to what we mentioned, but you also attend tournaments leading to the State Championship in June.
WHO ARE THE COACHES?
We have an awesome group of ZZU coaches and parent coaches who help teach and coach our teams.
WHO CAN JOIN?
All high school boys and girls are encouraged to join, regardless of experience. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. Whether you're new to the sport or have never picked up a frisbee before, our team is dedicated to teaching and developing players of all abilities. We understand that not everyone may be able to throw a frisbee perfectly right away, and that's okay! Our goal is to have fun and make this an enjoyable experience for everyone.

WHAT PARENTS SAY:
-
"This is the first sport my son actually enjoys. We wouldn't let him play football after he got injured."
-
"I like it because my 4th grade son, 7th grade daughter, and 8th grade son can all play at the same time. ONE car trip!"
-
"I was hesitant about the fact that there are no refs, but after the first game I'm surprised at how well it works. They actually talk about disagreements to each other instead of needing a ref."
-
"I appreciate that I don't have to worry about concussions like when he was doing football. I also love knowing my son will always get a good workout in every single practice and game."

WHAT IS ULTIMATE FRISBEE:
Combining the nonstop movement and athletic endurance of soccer with the aerial passing skills of football, a game of Ultimate Frisbee is played two seven-player teams on a field similar to football. The object of the game is to score points by catching a pass in the opponent’s end zone. A player must stop running while in possession of the disc, but may pivot and pass to any of the other receivers on the field.
Just like basketball, Ultimate Frisbee is a transition game in which players move quickly from offense to defense on turnovers that occur with a dropped pass, an interception, a pass out of bounds, or when a player is caught holding the disc for more than ten seconds. Although Ultimate Frisbee resembles many traditional sports in its basic athletic requirements, the rules are simpler, which allows the game to be self-officiated. The concept of Spirit of the Game is integrated into the basic philosophy of the sport, it is written into the rules and is practiced at all levels of the games from local leagues to the World Games.
Several local colleges have teams including GVSU, MSU, Cornerstone, Ferris State, and Calvin College. One day,
some of our players may play professionally for the Detroit Mechanix or even for Team USA!
